ArtsView Children’s Theatre in Longview is gearing up for its fourth annual A Night at the Copa fundraiser, a lounge-style dinner show featuring teenage actors.

The show is performed in the style of the 1950s and ‘60s Copa Room at the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas.

It’s set for Feb. 14-16 (although the Feb. 14 show is sold out.)

The Copa Room was known for the popular entertainers who performed there, including members of the Rat Pack, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Lena Horne, Jimmy Durante, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Peggy Lee, Bobby Darin and others.

“The idea behind it is that this is a lounge night-inspired event … so it has a feel of the Rat Pack era,” ArtsView Executive Director Nathaniel Olson said before the 2023 shows.

“Filled with music straight from the crooner era, our talented performers bring your favorite songs by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Etta James, Peggy Lee and more to life in this can’t be missed event,” according to information from ArtsView. “Enjoy a delectable dinner, refreshing mocktails and irresistible desserts, all while being serenaded by ArtsView teens performing vintage hits from the ‘50s and ‘60s in true Rat Pack style.

“This dazzling, vintage-themed production is packed with iconic songs, stunning costumes, and all the flair of a 1950s supper club. Get ready for an unforgettable evening celebrating the music and style of a bygone era!”

General admission tickets for Feb. 15 and 16 are $20.

Table tickets are still available for the Feb. 15 performance. Tickets are $200 for a table for four and $100 for a table for two. Table tickets also include dinner, “mocktails” and dessert.

“Because this is a show put on by the teens, we are only serving mocktails,” Olson said previously. “But we have special mocktails that are not alcoholic but are fun, mixed drinks.”
