LINDALE — Lindale swept the District 15-4A Track and Field Championships Thursday at Eagle Stadium.
The Lindale boys won with 174 points, followed by Van (106), Brownsboro (95), Canton (92), Mabank (83), Athens (50) and Kemp (14).
“They have big goals,” Lindale boys track and field head coach Chad Cooper said. “For them, it’s just another chance to get better, to run really fast and to try to get where they want to get. Having those big goals keeps them focused. I don’t have to motivate them. They’re ready to go, which is awesome.”
The Lindale girls won with 233 points, followed by Mabank (120), Van (92), Canton (88), Athens (40), Brownsboro (34) and Kemp (13).
“I couldn’t be more proud of them,” Lindale girls track and field head coach Blair Magee said. “They work extremely hard. They show up every day and go to work. A lot of them are doing other sports at the same time. It goes to show how hard they work. It paid off for them, and I’m really proud of them.”
Two-time state champion Colter Maya won the 400-meter dash with a time of 47.75 with teammates Kaden Baze and Dawson Lewis taking second and third. Maya and Baze were also on the gold-medal squads in the 4×100 and 4×400 relays.
“I want to win everything,” Maya said. “I want to win the 4×1, want to win the 400, want to win the 4×4. I will do anything. To get all those senior guys a gold medal at state would be awesome.”
Ward also got triple gold, winning the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.27, and Bradford was a three-time gold medalist, adding the long jump (22-2.75) to the two relays.
Lindale’s Matthew Kenney won two golds, taking first in the 110 and 300 hurdles.
Van’s Isaiah Colorado won the 1,600 and 3,200 meters.
For the girls, Lindale’s Abigail Kelley, Kyndal Thurmon, Tori Cooper and Kaelyn Kincade all won two golds.
Kelley won the 1,600 and 3,200 meters. Her time of 5:16.35 in the 1,600 broke the school record that stood since 1985.
Thurmon won the 100 and 300 hurdles. Cooper won the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.50 and was on the 4×100 relay. Kincade was on the 4×100 and 4×200 relay teams that won first.

Mabank’s Cian Wicks-Ashley won the 200-meter dash and was on the 4×400 relay team that won gold. Trista Etheridge was also on the relay, and she won the 800-meter run.
