Multiple traffic signals in Tyler are without power, including several along one of the city’s busiest roadways — Broadway Avenue.

The City of Tyler said its Traffic Operations Department is deploying generators, but some intersections may remain without power until Oncor can restore them.

Drivers should treat a “dark” traffic signal as a four-way stop. Each vehicle should come to a complete stop and take its turn to proceed through the intersection.

Oncor has been notified of the issue and expects to restore power around 1:30 p.m., according to the city.

Motorists should remain alert and drive with caution.

Over 1,300 Oncor customers in Smith County are affected by the outages. Full restoration is expected around 4 p.m.
