Lindale girls, Mabank boys win 15-4A golf

Lindale’s girls and Mabank’s boys won the District 15-4A Golf Tournament Monday and Tuesday at the Van Zandt Country Club in Canton.
Lindale (380-373 — 753) took the top team spot on the girls’ side with Canton (374-381 — 755) placing second and also qualifying for regionals.
Lindale’s Kenzie McClenny (76-71 — 147) was the top finisher for the girls. She was followed by Canton’s Bella Irwin (84-85 — 169) and Jayme Robertson (84-86 — 170).
Kemp’s Alexiss Walters (97-104 — 201) and Clara Webb (103-99 — 202) grabbed the other two regional spots.
For the boys, Mabank (303-300 — 363) took the top team spot with Lindale (330-323 — 653) placing second and earning a berth at regionals.
Mabank had the top three individuals: Gunnar McGilvra (71-75 — 146), Cameron Van Horn (76-71 — 147) and Jacob Steele (77-78 — 155).
Kemp had the other two regional qualifiers — Daltyn Irvin (82-76 — 158) and Josiah Young (81-78 — 159).
Other scores for Lindale girls were Addysen Bryan (99-94 — 193), Kaydence Ramsey (120-107 — 227), Abigail Halme (113-115 — 228) and Atalie Thompson (92-101 — 193). Lindale medalists were Shelby Lowery (120-98 — 218) and Choe Anderson (122-121 — 243).
Other scores for Canton girls were Autumn McKeehan (97-98 — 195), Katheryne Fisher (109-112 — 221) and Alyssa Crow (128-132 — 260). Scores for Canton 2 girls (473-526 — 999) were Caroline Matlock (105-121 — 226), Clara Boggan (150-142 — 292), Ashlynn Mac (131-NC — NC), Kaylee Woolbright (111-128 — 239) and Mackenzie Rhodes (126-135 — 261).

The Class 4A Region II Golf Tournament will be April 14-15 for the girls and April 16-17 for the boys, both at the Van Zandt Country Club in Canton.
