Quitman woman gets 30 years for beating homeowner with metal pole

QUITMAN — A Quitman woman was sentenced to 30 years in prison for beating an East Texas homeowner with a metal pole.

Ruby Dee Isaacs pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She was sentenced to 30 years on March 18 by a jury.


In April 2023, the Wood County District Attorney’s Office said that Isaacs and three other people came to the homeowner’s property without permission and with weapons in their hands. Isaacs had a homemade “metal pole” with a sprocket attached to the end.
