The 50th annual Zonta Antique Show and Sale will feature antiques galore and tasty treats for shoppers Feb. 28 through March 2 at the Maude Cobb Convention and Activity Center in Longview.
“It’s gonna be a beautiful show, and we’ve got some wonderful new exhibitors,” said show chairman Terry McJilton.
Sixty-one vendors of genuine antiques will sell jewelry, furniture, toys, artwork, fine China dinnerware and more. The show takes place 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 28 and March 1 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 2. Tickets cost $10 each and are valid for all three days of the show. They can be purchased at the door.
“You can’t see it all in one day,” McJilton said.
The show includes its signature tea room, where attendees can chow down on pie, hamburgers, taco salad and other lunch foods. On March 2, a meal of homemade chicken spaghetti, green beans, garlic bread and salad will be on the menu. The tea room is open 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. all three days.
The antique show is the Zonta Club of Greater East Texas chapter’s sole fundraiser, with proceeds going toward scholarships for women and nonprofit organizations serving women in the region. This past year’s show raised $55,000 for the organization, McJilton said.
The show is one of Longview’s largest annual events, and it has a loyal crowd of attendees. One woman has been to almost every show, McJilton said.
Zonta Club of Greater East Texas is a local branch of Zonta International, which advises the United Nations on women’s issues.
