Your words resonate

Thank you, Jennifer Scott and the editor at the Tyler Paper for your recent op-ed “Fighting to hear — and be heard” in the Dec. 27 edition.

Jennifer, you make a clear and bold statement about your struggles and gains toward better hearing. Your skills as a good writer, which some of us readers are already aware of, are apparent. As a person with hearing loss, I can tell you that your statement resonates with me.

I, too, have had frustrations and adjustments in my desire to hear. Your words resonate with me. At the same time I am most grateful for those who have supported me when I cannot hear. Above all is my wife of more than 50 years, Carol. Also most doctors and nurses, when informed of my disability, have been helpful. I do believe in Jesus Christ, a most high God who has sustained me.
