If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, check out this list of events and activities around East Texas.


Second annual Christmas in the Pineywoods Holiday Market, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Nov. 22-23, Maude Cobb Convention and Activity Center, Longview. More than 70 specialty boutiques and merchants with seasonal decorations, housewares, artwork, gourmet foods and more. Tickets: $10 at the door or at tinyurl.com/3kxpbd9k . “Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, the Musical,” 7 p.m. Nov. 22 and 23 and 2:30 p.m. Nov. 23 and 24, ArtsView Children’s Theatre, 313 W. Tyler St., Longview. Tickets: $15 available at artsviewchildrenstheatre.com/buy-tickets/ .

20th annual Gobble Wobble 1-mile run, 5K and 10K fundraiser for Newgate Mission, 9 a.m. Nov. 23, Loop 281 entrance of the Paul G. Boorman Trail in Longview. Registration is free and can be done online at tinyurl.com/2y2vebrw before the run or at 8 a.m. the day of the race. Twentieth anniversary T-shirts are available for $25. Parking will be available across the street at Austin Bank, and police escorts will be on site to help participants cross the loop.

Annual community Christmas tree lighting, 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 23, Heritage Plaza, downtown Longview. The tree lighting is set to begin about 5:30 p.m. Event will feature photos with Santa, music, carriage rides, a petting zoo, Ollie’s Faux Snow Hill, food trucks and vendors. Although the event is free to attend, the petting zoo, pony rides, and carriage rides have a $5 fee.

Choirs of University of Texas at Tyler Fall Choral Concert “Harvest of Song,” 7:30 p.m. Nov. 22, Braithwaite Recital Hall, 3900 University Blvd., Tyler. Free tickets can be reserved at patriotsingers.org.

Pet Pictures with Santa Paws fundraiser for the Humane Society’s Pets Fur People, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Nov. 23, Peltier Subaru, 3200 S SW Loop 323, Tyler. Cost: $20 for 4×6 print and digital file. Proceeds benefit the Humane Society’s Pets Fur People, the oldest no-kill animal sanctuary in East Texas.

Arbor Day celebration, 9 a.m. to noon, Nov. 23, Noble E. Young Park, 3125 Seaton St, Tyler. Event hosted by Tyler Trees Committee and the City of Tyler Urban Forestry Division. Register at bit.ly/4eDoIjQ to receive a free T-shirt, lunch and a chance to win a door prize. Potted trees will be given out at event while supplies last.

Second annual Embracing Hope Epilepsy Awareness Vendor Fair, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Nov. 23, Tyler Rose Garden, 420 Rose Park Drive, Tyler. Get a head start on Christmas shopping while also helping increasing awareness of epilepsy and raising funds for community members to assist with medical treatments and research.
