Softball Roundup: Arp’s Fletcher throws one-hitter

ARP — Lacy Fletcher threw a one-hitter in leading the Arp Lady Tigers to a 15-0 victory over the Waskom LadyCats on Tuesday in a District 16-3A softball game.
Arp improves to 18-9 overall and 6-2 in district.
Fletcher struck out six and did not walk a batter.
Neci Potts had three hits and drove in four runs, while Maddie Birdsong hit a double and knocked in two runs.
Adding hits were Fletcher (2) and Kaitlynn Raymond (1). Other RBIs were Addison Carpenter (2), Raymond (2), Addison Anderson (2), Fletcher (1) and Avery Littlepaige (1).
Scoring runs were Carpenter (3), Potts (2), Fletcher (2), Birdsong (2), Anderson (2), Abby Parker (2), Hannah Martindale (1) and Littlepaige (1).
The Lady Tigers are scheduled to travel to New London on Friday to meet West Rusk in a 5:30 p.m. contest.
Troup 5, Tatum 1
TROUP — Carli Hays allowed five hits and no earned runs as the Troup Lady Tigers defeated Tatum 5-1 on Tuesday in a District 16-3A softball game.
Hays struck out six and did not walk a batter.
Troup improves to 16-7 overall and 6-2 in district. Tatum is 5-18 and 3-4.
Shiloh Sluder, Bailey Blanton, Sydnie Dickey, Hannah Cearley and London Driggers each had hits for the Lady Tigers.
Blanton, Dickey, Cearley and Driggers had RBIs. Scoring runs were Dickey (2), Sluder (1), Taylor Gillispie (1) and Blanton (1) scored runs.
Sanyia Cotton had two hits (double, single) and an RBI to lead Tatum. Adding singles were Aundrea Bradley, Alex Brown and Karly Stroud.
Troup is scheduled to host Elysian Fields on Tuesday, April 9 at 6 p.m. Tatum is scheduled to visit Elysian Fields at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
Van 12, Brownsboro 0
BROWNSBORO — Jailey Bailey tossed a one-hitter and struck out three as the Van Lady Vandals scored a 12-0 win over Brownsboro on Tuesday in a District 16-3A softball game.
Van improves to 25-2 overall and 5-0 in district. The Bearettes fall to 8-18 and 1-3.
Averi Crouch had a homer and a double to pace the Van attack, while Maddy Medcalf and Mahayla McKinney contributing three hits each. One of
Emerson Swoape added a triple and single with Nikki Tompkins hitting a double and single. Maylan Hale belted a double.
RBIs were from Swoape (2), Crouch (2), McKinney (1), Hale (1) and Medcalf (1).
Scoring runs were McKinney (3), Tompkins (3), Crouch (2), Lanna Tschirhart (2), Swoape (1) and Hale (1).
Aubree McKinney had a double for the Bearettes.
Van plays host to Chapel Hill at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Brownsboro visits Chapel Hill on Tuesday, April 9.
Brook Hill 20, Prince of Peace 1
CARROLLTON — Karmen Miller struck out 10 in leading the Brook Hill Lady Guard to a 20-1 win over Carrollton Prince of Peace on Tuesday in a TAPPS Division III District 2 softball game.
Miller allowed two hits and the run was unearned.
Miller had three RBIs with Piper Moore adding three hits, including a double. McKenna Lunceford also had a double.
Other Lady Guards with hits were Menah Harley (2), Miller (1), Maddie Matheny (1) and Landrey McNeel (1).
Also knocking in runs were Moore (2), Harley (2), Lunceford (2), Gracie Dawson (1), Matheny (1), Mylee Booth (1), McNeel (1) and Scarlette Kerr (1).
Scoring runs were Harley (5), Moore (3), Miller (3), Dawson (2), Booth (2), McNeel (2), Lunceford (2) and Kerr (1).
Whitehouse 16, Marshall 1
MARSHALL — Grace Ann McDonald allowed only three hits as the Whitehouse Ladycats scored a 16-1 win over Marshall on Tuesday in a District 15-5A softball game.
Whitehouse improves to 20-6-1 overall and 8-1 in district. Marshall falls to 6-11 and 2-7.
Elli Green and Sierra Channel each belted home runs. Analee Becerra, Cami Laney and Paige Goodell all had triples with doubles from Laney Crawford (2), McDonald, Kyndal Morris and Aubry O’Bryant.
Kate Jones, Becerra, Laney, McDonald, Morris and Crawford all had two hits.
McDonald and Green each drove in three runs with two RBIs each from Goodell and Channel. Adding one RBI apiece were Jones, Laney, Morris and Crawford.
Scoring runs were Becerra (3), Laney (2), Morris (2), Crawford (2), Channel (2), Riley Ohlsen (2), Jones (1), Goodell (1) and Green (1).
Amaria Boyd had two hits, including a double. Claire Godwin added a single with an RBI from Makayla Jones.
Whitehouse is scheduled to travel to Longview on Friday to meet Pine Tree at 6 p.m. Marshall is slated to host Mount Pleasant at 6 p.m. Friday.
Hawkins wins two
HAWKINS — The Hawkins Lady Hawks swept New Summerfield in a non-district doubleheader on Tuesday. Hawkins won 15-0 and 20-5.
In the first game, Kalyn Ellison threw a three-inning no-hitter, striking out seven and not walking a batter.
Taetum Smith led Hawkins with three hits, including a double. Allyson Mathews hit a double with singles from Ellison, Ryli Williams, Jaci Smith and Karysen Johnson.
RBIs were from Johnson (2), Smith (1), Williams (1) and Mathews (1).
Scoring runs were Smith (3), Mathews (2), Smith (2), Cassie Bivens (2), Keiper Pruitt (2), Londyn Wilson (1), Johnson (1), Alyvia Barber (1) and Alana Gipson (1).
In Game 2, Ellison pitched three innings, while allowing three hits and five runs (2 earned). She struck out eight and walked one.
Johnson hit a triple with doubles by Mathews, Williams, Wilson and Ellison.
Smith, Williams, Mathews and Johnson each had two hits. Haylie Bergen and Smith each had singles.
RBIs were from Smith (4), Johnson (3), Williams (2), Wilson (2), Ellison (1), Bergen (1), Mathews (1) and Barber (1).
The Lady Hawks are scheduled to host Carlisle at 5 p.m. Friday.
