Grace Community Schools hosted a Junior High School Golf Tournament on Monday at Peach Tree Golf Club in Bullard. Sydney McConnell (All Saints) took individual medalist honors with a nine-hole score of 37. Annaka Watts (Cumberland Academy) finished in second place with 42, while Austin Cotton (Tyler HEAT) finished third with 43. The Grace Royal Blue team won first place with a team score of 242, led by eighth-grader Grace Leal with a 55. Other scores were Meghan Adams (55), Anna Wilt (64) and Alexis Purdue (65). The Grace Silver team finished second with a team score of 257, led by Kaitlyn Cabaniss with a 60. Other scores were Carley Reed (63), Abby Harrison (67) and Emma Jane Babb (67). The next event is April 9 at Peach Tree Golf Club beginning at 4:30 p.m. It is open for all seventh and eight grade golfers.
