Brook Hill stops Grace

BULLARD — Alyssa Duplichain threw seven innings, while striking out four in leading the Brook Hill Lady Guard to an 8-2 softball win over Grace Community on Monday.

The Lady Guard broke open the close game in the fifth with three runs on an RBI single by Taylor Schultz and an RBI double from Lexi Crewshaw.


Crenshaw had three RBIs on two hits.

Taylor Kingsley pitched for the Lady Cougars. She pitched six of the seven innings, while striking out four.

Brook Hill took a 1-0 lead int he first as Maddie Anthony’s single brought home Maddie Parker.

After Grace tied the game in the fourth, the Lady Guard scored two in the bottom half of the inning as Morgan Magouirk had an RBI single and Dulplichain had an RBI groundout.

Kingsley, Hannah Wright and Chelsea Clark had doubles for the Lady Cougars, while Schultz and Crenshaw had doubles for the LAdy Guard.

Grace (2-1, 0-1) plays at Dallas Christian on Friday, while Brook Hill (9-1-1, 1-0) plays host to Frisco Legacy Christian on Tuesday. Both games have 5 p.m. scheduled starts.
