Tyler police continued their search for a man wanted for a Wednesday morning shooting that left one injured.

Don Martin, the department’s spokesman, said officers were dispatched to a home in the 2400 block of Plume Drive about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday in regard to a shooting.

Once on scene, officers found 28-year-old Amos Carrillo in the driveway of the home suffering from multiple gunshots.

Martin said officers were told the man who allegedly shot him, 23-year-old Samuel Isai Ortega, had fled the scene on foot.

Carrillo was transported to a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Martin said the shooting stemmed from the two becoming involved in an altercation after a night of drinking.

Ortega is described as a Hispanic man about 5 feet 7 inches tall, 110 pounds and believed to be driving a silver 2008 Honda Civic with Texas license KRY-619.

Anyone with information about Ortega’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Tyler Police Department at 903-531-1000 or the Tyler/Smith County Crimestoppers at 903-597-2833.
