WACO —Robert E. Lee baseball dropped its final two games Saturday at the Waco Midway Tournament.
The Red Raiders hung with defending Arkansas 6A state champion Bryant, eventually losing 3-1.
Against A&M Consolidated later in the day, REL was upended 11-3.
The two losses dropped REL’s record to 5-4-1 entering District 11-6A play Tuesday at home against Garland Sachse. First pitch is 7 p.m. at Mike Carter Field.
“We need to regroup and get ready for the district stretch,” Lee coach David Howard said. “That is why we play all of these games. We played some good baseball through stretches (against Bryant) and kind of let the second one get away from us a bit. Overall I was pleased with how we played against Bryant, especially.”
