Health Northeast cancer center gets its accreditation

The UT Health Northeast Cancer Treatment and Prevention Center has received a three-year accreditation with commendations from the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons (ACoS).

The commendations include: clinical trial accrual, recruiting patients into clinical trials; nursing credentials for having all UT Health Cancer Center nurses Oncology Certified Nurses; and cancer registrar education meaning their cancer registries provide valuable data to improve treatment, research and education.


The American College of Surgeons is a consortium of professional organizations dedicated to improving patient outcomes and quality of life for cancer patients through standard-setting, prevention, research, education, and the monitoring of comprehensive, quality care.
