WACO — Robert E. Lee’s Garrett Hudson delivered a complete-game shutout in a 1-0 win over Waco Midway Friday in the Midway Baseball Tournament.

The Red Raiders (5-2-1) scored a run in the third inning on an RBI single by Parker Bramlett, who had both of Lee’s hits in the contest. Bramlett’s hit drove in Luke Hamilton, who reached on an error.

Hudson did the rest, fanning 10 while allowing four hits.

Midway (6-2-1) had a runner at third base with one out in the fifth before Hudson induced consecutive ground balls to end the inning.

Hudson struck out the side in the seventh.

“Midway is a good team as always,” Lee coach David Howard said. “And to get the chance to play at their place and have Hudson and the defense respond they way they did and to come away with a win was huge for us.”

The Red Raiders play two games Saturday in the Midway Tournament. First is a matchup against defending Arkansas 6A state champion Bryant at 11:30 a.m. before facing A&M Consolidated at 2 p.m.
