An early morning fire Wednesday destroyed a Tyler home. It happened in the 600 block of East Vance Street in Tyler, across the street from Douglas Elementary School.
Three adults and two children were inside. The family was sleeping when they heard noises. Everyone made it out safely. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
The family lost all of their belongings in the fire. Douglas Elementary is helping by accepting donations for the family that lived inside the home — a grandmother, her adult son, his wife and their two small kids. They are in need of clothing and shoes.
