HOUSTON (AP) — Authorities say a pedestrian has died after being struck by a Houston METRORail train in an accident not at a crosswalk.

Metro police say the 23-year-old woman died Monday night at a hospital. Her name wasn’t immediately released.

Police say the woman was struck while apparently trying to walk across some tracks in an area near downtown Houston.

Investigators are trying to determine whether she was wearing headphones at the time of the accident.
