LONGVIEW (KYTX) – A Tyler man remains jailed in connection with Longview’s sixth homicide of the year.

Twenty-one-year-old Christian Earl Sibley turned himself in Friday. Investigators say Sibley shot 22-year-old Jerrad Hunt during a physical altercation February 3.

Hunt died last week, and was laid to rest Saturday in Longview.

Sibley is in the Gregg County Jail on $35,000 bond, charged with aggravated assault and bond forfeiture warrant for escaping from police custody in 2013. He’s been arrested a dozen times in Gregg County since November 2010.
