Hanks hits for 39, but Brook Hill falls

FORT WORTH — Despite 39 points from Grant Hanks, Bullard Brook Hill saw its season come to an end on Monday in a TAPPS Class 4A regional semifinal at Brewer High School.

The Guard fell to Arlington Pantego and 7-footer Rickey Brice 64-54.


Pantego (30-11) advances to the regional final on Tuesday against All Saints. Tipoff is 5:30 p.m.

The winner advances to the state tournament later this week in Mansfield.

Hanks kept the Guard in the game, scoring 15 of his team’s 17 points in the first quarter and 22 of the squads’ 30 first half points.

Tyler Halliburton led the Panthers with 21 points, while Brice, who has committed to the University of North Texas, added 20 points.

Brice also had 17 rebounds and 12 blocked shots.
