Old man winter is causing havoc with the sporting world again.

Due to snow and ice in the Dallas area, a few basketball playoff games have been postponed.

The Class 3A Region II girls basketball tournament semifinals scheduled for Rockwall-Heath High School in Heath have been switched to Saturday. The Winnsboro vs. Sunnyvale semifinal is slated for 2 p.m., followed by the Alba-Golden vs. Bowie game at 4 p.m.

The championship game is scheduled to be played at 2 p.m. Sunday.

In other changes:

Lindale’s showdown with top-ranked Lancaster was moved from Friday to Saturday. The game will now be at 6 p.m. at Forney High School, immediately following the John Tyler-Mansfield Summit game in the Class 5A area playoffs.

The Lufkin-Dallas South Oak Cliff boys basketball area playoff game has been moved to 3 p.m. Saturday at Tyler Junior College’s Wagstaff Gymnasium. The contest was originally slated to follow the Athens-Kilgore game Friday night, but Dr. Tim Drain, TJC athletic director, said travel issues in the Dallas area forced the Lufkin-SOC game to move to Saturday.

The Brownsboro boys basketball area playoff game with Paris North Lamar has been moved to 7 p.m. Saturday at Wills Point High School, BISD athletic director Jason Hooker announced.

The game was originally scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Friday.

The TAPPS 4A north regional tournament was also postponed this weekend.

Featuring the All Saints and Bullard Brook Hill boys as well as the Grace Community girls, the regional semifinals were scheduled for Friday at Fort Worth Brewer High School, with the regional finals on Saturday.

Games will not be made up Saturday, with the exact time and place for the make-ups as of yet undecided.
