Historical marker slated for Johnny Cace’s

A historical marker is scheduled to be installed Saturday on the property of Johnny Cace’s restaurant in Longview. It will come just a month before the iconic Longview restaurant closes its doors.
The marker — granted by the Texas Historical Commission and applied for through the Gregg County Historical Commission — commemorates 66 years of the family owned restaurant.
Gem Meacham, chairwoman of the Gregg County Historical Commission, said the marker will remain on the property even if it is sold.
