Annual citywide Black History event Saturday

The African-American Cultural Events Committee will have its Annual Citywide Black History Celebration on Saturday.
The event is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. at the Tyler Municipal Rose Garden, 420 S. Rose Park Drive.
Dr. Aminata Mbacke is scheduled to be the guest speaker. Dr. Mbacke was born in Fort Worth and is the youngest of four children.
She graduated from Terrell High School and earned associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the California University systems.
She also received certificates of completion in management of nonprofit organizations from Columbia University.
Tickets cost $25 for adults and $15 for children 12 years old and under. Dinner will be provided.
