UT Tyler hosting job fairs March 24,26

CAREER AND TECHNOLOGY JOB FAIR

The University of Texas at Tyler College of Business and Technology and The Office of Career Services will hold the inaugural Business and Technology Career Fair 2015 on March 24.


Lunch will be from noon to 1 p.m. and the fair will be from 1 to 4 p.m.

The fair will present students enrolled in the College of Business and Technology who are seeking both full-time and internship opportunities within the business community.

The students have undergraduate degrees in these areas: accounting, computer information systems, computer science, finance, human resource development, industrial technology, management, marketing and surveying and mapping emphasis.

The CBT offers the following graduate and professional degree programs: Master of Business Administration, Master of Accountancy, Master of Science in Human Resource Development, Master of Science in Industrial Management, Master of Science in Computer Science, and Coordinated MSN-MBA (Nursing, Business Administration); as well as a Doctoral Program degree in Human Resource Development.

The Business and Technology Career Fair 2015 provides two unique opportunities for employers to meet with the dean of the College of Business and Technology as well as faculty and staff over lunch, followed by networking with students at the job fair.

SPRING JOB FAIR

The University of Texas at Tyler Career Services will conduct the 2015 Spring Job Fair on March 26.

Employers have expressed high satisfaction with UT Tyler students’ ability to transition from students to professionals and are impressed by the overall student attendance, Tonna Brooks of UT Tyler Career Services, said.

A Lowe’s representative stated that the event in the past was, “well organized and (we) met many great students.”

UT Tyler’s culture of excellence provides students with the knowledge needed to excel in their chosen profession, Ms. Brooks said.

Graduates demonstrate proficiency in leadership, think critically and have an international understanding that will allow them to participate in a global society, Ms. Brooks said.

She added that UT Tyler students often out-perform graduates from all other Texas public universities on state licensing exams in engineering, nursing, education and psychology.
