Mineola’s Bell tosses no-hitter

SULPHUR SPRINGS — Sydnie Bell tossed a no-hitter in the opening game for Mineola on Thursday in the Sulphur Springs Softball Tournament.

Bell struck out six and only walked two in the Lady Jackets’ 4-0 win over Mount Pleasant.


Sister Green belted a two-run homer, while Kassy Skinner had a double.

In the second game, Mineola dropped an 8-4 decision to Princeton.

Skinner was 2 for 2 with a double, while Green was 2 for 3.

Mineola (1-1) returns to play at 12:30 p.m. Friday against Royse City.
