Women’s Symphony League to recognize JSL seniors at event

“Heart Strings, A Night of Celebration” is the theme of the annual Women’s Symphony League’s 60th annual ball, set for 7 p.m. March 6 at Harvey Convention Center.
Proceeds benefit the East Texas Symphony Orchestra.
The formal-attire celebration will include dinner, dancing, a benefit drawing, gift boxes and silent auction. Tickets are $175 per person.

Senior members of the Junior Symphony League will be presented during the ball. JSL members serve as ushers at East Texas Symphony Orchestra concerts and participate in programs that support music education.
JUNIOR SYMPHONY LEAGUE SENIORS
William Jefferson Arnold, son of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas J.B. Arnold, attends Robert E. Lee High School where he serves as an executive student body officer and the soccer captain. He received the HOBY Award and is an Eagle Scout.
Katherine Virginia Beall, daughter of Dr. and Dr. Charles Vernon Beall, attends All Saints Episcopal School where she serves in the Honor Council and on the Dance Team. She is in the National Honor Society and received a Rotary Youth Leadership Award.
Lauren Alexandra Bone, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Foster Bone, attends Grace Community School where she serves in student government and the Chapel Team. Miss Bone is a member of the National Honor Society and Texas Bank and Trust Student Board. She plans to attend Baylor University.
Clayton Carl Bochow, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bochow Jr., attends Bishop TK Gorman Catholic School where he has been on the football and wrestling teams. He is in the National Honor Society and is an Eagle Scout. He plans to attend Texas A&M University.
Bruce Tim Brookshire Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Tim Brookshire Sr., attends Grace Community School. He is an Eagle Scout and member of the National Honor Society. He also is a NASA High School Aerospace Scholar and on the Tyler Bank and Trust Student Bank Board.
Savannah Grace Brown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. DeWayne Brown, attends Robert E. Lee High School where she is on the Southern Belles drill team. She volunteers for The Salvation Army and plays tennis. She plans to attend Tyler Junior College.
Caroline Elissa Camp, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. John Thomas Camp, attends Bishop TK Gorman Catholic School where she is president of Student Council and captain of the volleyball team. She is in Young Life and the National Honor Society.
Rachel Elizabeth Cargile, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Patrick Cargile, attends Robert E. Lee High School where she is on the swim team and plays the violin in the chamber orchestra. She is in the National Honor Society. She plans to attend Texas A&M University and major in biology.
Claudia Noelle Courson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Craig Matthew Courson, attends Grace Community School where she plays in the orchestra. She enjoys golf and interned at a doctor’s office. She plans to attend Baylor, TCU or the University of Arkansas.
Mallory Kristine Curtis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Bradly Curtis Sr., attends Robert E. Lee High School where she has been a Student Council senator for three years and has been on All-District in soccer for four years. She is in Young Life and was a trainbearer in the Texas Rose Festival. She plans to attend Baylor University.
Jackson Lee Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Russell Davis, attends Bishop TK Gorman Catholic School where he is a Bishop Gorman Ambassador. He is on the soccer and golf teams and Gorman CRU.
Nicholas Lorenzo DiPaolo, son of Dr. David P. DiPaolo and Susan Fasulo, attends Bishop TK Gorman Catholic School where he is captain of the cross-country and track teams. He was an All-District Top 10 Finisher in cross-country and Top 10 finisher in state in 3200-meter run. He also participated in wrestling.
Hadlee Fletcher Dixon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Wells and Mr. and Mrs. Chris Dixon, attends Grace Community School where she is cheer captain. She is in the National Honor Society and was an All American NCA Cheerleader. She plans to major in exercise science.
Sidney Reign Dukes, daughter of Ms. Susan Chapman-Dukes and Mr. Rory Clint Dukes, attends Robert E. Lee High School where she is in the National Honor Society. She is a three-time Junior Olympic National Qualifier and was the 2013 Regional Champion. She plans on attending the University of Kentucky and has been awarded a gymnastics scholarship.
Brennan Paul Fanning, son of Dr. and Mrs. Paul Martin Fanning, attends Bishop TK Gorman Catholic School where he is on the football, soccer and baseball teams. He is a Life Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. He plans to attend Texas A&M University.
Noah Alexander Fanous, son of Dr. and Mrs. Elias Fanous, attends All Saints Episcopal School where he is a founding member of Honor Council. He is a TAPPS state debate champion and the USA Olympic Debate Team Finalist. He also is an Eagle Scout.
Garrett Barton Farmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Anthony Farmer, attends Robert E. Lee High School where he is in All-Regional Band and Jazz Band and the National Honor Society. He received the REL Academic Achievement & Community Award and is in Mu Alpha Theta. He plans to attend Texas A&M University.
Patrick Ian Finlay, son of Dr. Leslie Couch and Dr. David Finlay, attends All Saints Episcopal School where he is in the National Honor Society. He is a member of First Presbyterian Church Youth Group and Boy Scouts Venturing Crew 369. He studies piano under Glenda Moore.
Victoria Monroe Frost, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Wayne Frost Jr., attends Robert E. Lee High School where she has been on the soccer team for three years and is on student council. She is on the Yearbook Committee and in Young Life. She plans to attend Dallas Baptist or Texas Tech University.
Reid Roland Gordon, son of Dr. and Mrs. Charles Russell Gordon, attends Grace Community School where he is on the track and field team. He is in the National Honor Society and is an Eagle Scout. He was selected by the governor’s office to intern at the Economic and Development Department of Texas.
Griffen Hunt Greene, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Drew Greene, attends All Saints Episcopal School where he is captain of the football team. He has been awarded Best Advanced Sculptor and Best Beginning Sculptor. He loves to hunt ducks.
Helen Foster Hackney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joel Marshall Hackney, attends All Saints Episcopal School where she was Athletic Representative in the 2014 Homecoming Court. Miss Hackney has six “Highest Academic Effort” Awards. She was awarded the soccer Newcomer of the Year and Volleyball Academic All-State. She plans to attend the University of Mississippi.
Mallory Elizabeth Hancock, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Todd Hancock, attends Whitehouse High School where she is the cheerleader captain, on the yearbook staff and in the National Honor Society. She plans to attend Texas A&M University.
Grant Benjamin Hanks, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dillon Hanks, attends Brook Hill School where he is quarterback on the football team and point guard on the basketball team. He achieved TAPPS Academic All-State and was named the Rotary Outstanding High School Senior.
Nicholas Stephen Hardy, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Stephen Hardy, attends All Saints Episcopal School where he is on the soccer team and in the Art Club and Spanish Club. He has received several art awards.
Emily Elise Hegwood, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Alan Hegwood, attends All Saints Episcopal School where she is in Student Senate and is captain of the All American Cheer Squad. She is a member of the National Honor Society and qualified for the National Debate Tournament. She plans to study pre-pharmacy at either The University of Texas at Austin, Texas A&M University or Baylor University.
Nicholas James Hiles, son of Mr. and Mrs. Todd Matthew Hiles, attends All Saints Episcopal School where he was awarded Best All Around Artist-3D and was ranked fifth in state for sculpture. He was selected three years for the Sigma Leadership Development Program and has been in leadership with the Day Springs Youth Group. He plans to attend Harding University.
Jan Synclaire Horn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Allen Horn and Mr. and Mrs. Randall Miller, attends Whitehouse High School where she has been cheerleader manager for three years and has participated in journalism. She is a member of the Paw Prints newspaper staff, and is in FCCLA. She plans to attend Tyler Junior College, then Stephen F. Austin State University and major in fashion design and marketing.
Jon Elliott Hudgens, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jon Kenneth Hudgens, attends Grace Community School where he is tennis team captain. He is in National Society of High School Scholars and the National Honor Society and on the Texas Bank and Trust Student Board of Directors. He plans to attend Baylor University.
Hailey Kathryn Hurst, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Harvey Hurst, attends Roberts E. Lee High School where she is the executive secretary of the Student Council and on the soccer team. She is in the National Honor Society and Young Life. She plans to attend the University of Arkansas.
Carter Anne Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher I. Jones, attends Bishop TK Gorman Catholic School. She is in the National Honor Society and United States Equestrian Federation and on the Texas Bank and Trust Student Board. She was the Interscholastic Equestrian Association Reserve Champion. She plans to attend Baylor University.
Crystalyn Gail Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cody Cross Castagno and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Wayne Jones, attends Robert E. Lee High School where she is a cheerleader and on the Student Council. She is in Spirit of Tyler.
Megan Hope Kirkpatrick, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Andrew Kenton Kirkpatrick, attends All Saints Episcopal School where she is president of the Green Club and enjoys sculpture. She is a member of Hunter Jumper Equestrians and the National Honor Society. She plans to attend Baylor University and major in fashion merchandizing and marketing.
William Charles Krafve, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Krafve, attends Grace Community School where he is on the Shotgun Team. He is a Wrangler at Pine Cove Christian Camp and a Young Life Campaigner. He volunteers at East Texas Crisis Center and plans to attend Tyler Junior College.
Logan Franz Maloney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Llewellyn Maloney, attends Bishop TK Gorman Catholic School where is on several varsity teams. He is in the National Honor Society and a School Ambassador. He is also the ambassador for the East Texas Medical Center Junior Volunteer Program.
Claudia Anne McCown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Shannon McCown, attends Robert E. Lee High School where she is head drum major. She is in the National Honor Society and a Silver Member of National Forensics League. She made the All-Regional Band throughout high school. She plans to attend the University of North Texas.
Annie Elizabeth Mercer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Craig Mercer, attends Robert E. Lee High School where she is an officer in the Southern Belles and in the National Honor Society. She plans to attend Baylor University.
Caroline Hart Norton, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Michael Joseph Norton, attends All Saints Episcopal School where she is president of the Green Club and on the tennis team. She is vice president of the National Honor Society and on the Texas Bank and Trust Student Board. She hopes to attend Texas Christian University.
Austin MacKenzie Reed, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffery Reed, attends All Saints Episcopal School where he plays the saxophone in the Concert and Jazz bands. He is an acolyte for the Christ Episcopal Church in Tyler and participates in mission work. He also competes in track.
Abigail Elizabeth Rives, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Taucher, attends Grace Community School where she is on the volleyball team and was nominated for All-District.
George Travis Roberts III, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Travis Roberts Jr., attends Grace Community School where he is a state cross-country runner. He made All-State as a musician, playing clarinet and saxophone. He received a Rotary Youth Leadership Award and was chosen for the TCU Investment Banking Summer Program. He plans to major in music performance and finance.
Angela Elizabeth Rogers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald W. Rogers, attends East Texas Christian Academy. She is a Level 10 gymnast and participates in dance and swimming. She is in the National Honor Society and plans to attend The University of Texas at Tyler.
George Oliver Rowe III, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Rowe, attends All Saints Episcopal School where he was named All-District in baseball. He is a member of Spanish and Art clubs. He plans to attend Texas Tech University.
Charles Carter Short, son or Dr. and Mrs. Herbert David Short III, attends All Saints Episcopal School where he was All-District in baseball and is captain of bass drums on the drum line. He is on the soccer team and in Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He plans to major in veterinary medicine.

She is in the National Honor Society and on the Spirit of Tyler Cheerleading Team. She plans to attend Baylor University.
Taylor Margaret Smith, daughter of Ms. Diana Taylor Smith and Mr. Kingsley Smith, attends Grace Community School where she is on the drum line. She is a member of the Tech Theatre and in the National Honor Society.
Rachel Paige Stewart, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Monte Ray Stewart, attends Grace Community School where she is a cheerleader and in the orchestra. She is in the National Honor Society and on the Texas Bank and Trust Student Board of Directors.
Cason Neal Strnadel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Greg Strnadel, attends Grace Community School where he is on the cross-country and tennis teams. He was the national champion in the mixed division skeet team and a state academic competitor. He plans to major in agricultural economics.
Morgan Jalyn Tauscher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randall Lee Tauscher, attends Whitehouse High School where she played varsity basketball. Miss Tauscher is in the National Honor Society. She received that Hugh O’Brien Leadership Award and was homecoming queen in 2014.
