The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary’s 12th Chili Bowl and Auction is scheduled for 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Harvey Hall Convention Center, 2000 W. Front St., in Tyler.

The western-themed event will feature music by Terry Davis’ band “Old Guys Rule” along with performances from special guests Lizzie Davis and the famous Kay Steppers. Steppers will line dance to popular country western tunes.

Simmering chili will be served with all the fixings including beans, cheese, onions, cornbread and Fritos, according to a news release.

For attendees who prefer a less spicy meal, Chick-fil-A’s chicken noodle soup will be on the menu.

Dakotas Steak House will provide assorted desserts. Blue Bell ice cream bars, specialty coffee and teas also will be available.

After the meal, guests will be entertained with an auction featuring former Smith County Sheriff J.B. Smith as auctioneer.

Auction items include a three-ton Trane air conditioner unit, 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV, mink stole and jacket, lamb coat with sable collar, Collins ladies purse, Jackie Kennedy pearl necklace and bracelet, ladies luncheon for 10, Cricket mini golf cart, Senate chair from the Capitol in Austin and a sterling silver bracelet.

The silent auction opens at 5:30 p.m. and will include a football autographed by Heisman Trophy recipient Johnny Manziel, paintings, men’s western boots, golf packages, auto service packages, jewelry and Sports Nations signed sports memorabilia.

The event also will feature two competitions, one for tabletop decorating and the other for best-dressed cowgirl and cowboy. A western-themed photo booth will be open for pictures.

Chili Bowl tickets cost $10 each. Credit cards are accepted and tickets may be purchased at the door. Call Jennifer Jones at 903-592-4361 for more information or to purchase tickets.
