GARLAND — Robert E. Lee took another giant step toward the postseason with a 58-49 win over Garland Sachse Friday at Sachse High School.

Led by 16 points from guard Jordan Berry, the Red Raiders raised their District 11-6A record to 8-5 with just one game remaining.

REL will finish up its regular season against Rowlett at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lee Varsity Gymnasium.

“We came out and played a really good offensive and defensive ball game,” Lee coach Jeff Coleman said. “We played a little man and played a 3-2 zone which kind of stagnated them., We took away their easy buckets that usually energizes their team.

“When Jordan Berry shoots the ball werll from the perimeter in any quarter, we score well. We had really good balance tonight.”
