Tyler’s City Council is gathering at City Hall.

The city will call for an election on May 9, and contract with Smith County to hold a joint election between the city, Tyler ISD and Whitehouse ISD.

The single-member districts up for election are Districts 1, 3 and 5.

The council will also possibly approve an expenditure of over $49,000 for kennels at its animal shelter.
