East Texans can join the fight against cancer and get a chance to win a truck or jewelry as part of this year’s Tyler Cattle Barons’ Gala.

The gala committee announced Monday that Hall Buick GMC donated a fully loaded, black 2015 GMC Sierra Crew Cattle Barons’ Edition Truck and Susan Robinson Fine Jewelry donated a suite of jewelry designed by Charles Krypell, according to a Cattle Barons’ news release.

The 28th annual event, which has a theme of “Remember the Cause,” will feature Grammy Award-winning artist, Dwight Yoakam, presented by American State Bank.

As the third largest Cattle Barons’ Gala (after Dallas and Houston), the annual event helps raise money to benefit the American Cancer Society, which funds and conducts cancer research, advocates for laws to further the fight against the disease and promotes access to quality, affordable health care, according to its website.

Since Tyler’s first gala in 1988, thousands of volunteers have raised more than $10 million dollars for cancer research, education and patient services.

In addition to attending this year’s event, East Texans can support the cause by purchasing tickets for the chance drawing prizes.

Tickets cost $100 each for a chance to win the truck and only 500 will be sold.

The truck’s features include: a 5.3L V8 Engine, remote start, auto climate control, heated front seats, color touch screen IntelliLink with navigation system, custom tooled leather interior, custom embroidery and contrast stitching, OnStar with 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot plus many more GMC accessory options.

Chance drawing tickets for the jewelry cost $10 each, $25 for three tickets or $100 for 12 tickets.

The jewelry includes a lariat necklace, earrings and two bracelets made of sterling silver and 18-karat yellow gold.

Chance drawing tickets can be purchased at the American Cancer Society office, 1301 S. Broadway Ave., or by calling the office at 903-597-1383.

Tickets also can be purchased at Hall Buick GMC, Susan Robinson Fine Jewelry or from any Cattle Barons’ Gala committee member, according to the news release.

Winners will be announced on June 13 at the Cattle Barons’ Gala at Harvey Convention Center in Tyler. Participants do not have to be present to win.
