TJC softball splits pair

EUNICE, La. — The Tyler Junior College Apache Ladies softball team split a doubleheader with LSU-Eunice on Sunday.

TJC won the first game 4-0 behind a six-hit shutout from Halie Vance. The second game saw LSU-Eunice down Tyler 8-0.


The Apache Ladies (7-3) return to play on Wednesday as they meet Hill College in a DH at Schwab Field, which is on the campus of The Brook Hill School in Bullard. The first game is set to begin at noon.

On Sunday, Vance controlled the Bengals.

Amber Landry led the way offensively with three two singles and three RBIs.

Haley Mills, Halle Sabo and Madison Langston had two hits apiece, while Lacie Stevens and Aslin Roach had one single each.

In the second game, the Apache Ladies were held to three hits — two by Langston and one by Landry.
