Championship dreams for college football fans start Wednesday as National Signing Day unfolds.
There are countless numbers of East Texans set to sign college football scholarships Wednesday.
The correct signings in February will produce championships come December and January.
One of the most anticipated signings will take place in Gladewater as defensive lineman Daylon Mack, considered to be one of the top talents in the nation, will decide at about 11:30 a.m. whether he will play ball in College Station, Austin or Fort Worth. Or it may be someplace else. His final teams are believed to be Texas A&M, Texas and TCU.
Several media outlets were reporting late Tuesday that Mack is expected to be headed to Aggieland.
His decision will be broadcast live on ESPNU.
Up the road in Gilmer, defensive back Kris Boyd is expected to sign with Texas, while teammate and quarterback McLane Carter is eyeing the University of Incarnate Word and standout athlete Blake Lynch is sticking with Baylor.
John Tyler has upwards of 15 players signing, including WR Rodney Bendy (North Texas), athlete Nick Cain (undecided), DE Jassavia Reese (New Mexico State) and Isaac Warren (Northwestern State), among others.
Robert E. Lee has few signings as well with Brandon Durman, a linebacker, committed to Louisiana Tech.
In Whitehouse, defensive backs Nate Brooks (North Texas) and Justin Dunning (Texas A&M) are set to make it official.
Over in Arp, defensive end Tyrone Hunt flipped from UT San Antonio to Baylor and RB Marcalas Johnson is set for the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks.
