Freebirds World Burrito offering menu sampling today, Saturday for a donation

In preparation of its grand opening on Monday, Freebirds World Burrito is inviting Tylerites to come sample the menu today and Saturday for a donation.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today and Saturday, guests can eat at the build-your-own burrito chain for a $5 cash donation to support its community partners Arms of Hope and USO Dallas.


Freebirds will officially open at 11 a.m. on Monday, in the Times Square retail center, at 5105 S. Broadway Ave. The first 25 guests in line on Monday will get free burritos for a year.

The new Tyler location marks the 67th Freebirds restaurant opening in Texas for the brand, which operates more 100 locations in seven states across the U.S.

Burrito options start with four sizes and four flavors of tortilla. Customers can choose to pack it with a variety of meats, cheeses, rice, beans, vegetables and condiments. The restaurant also offers nachos and salads.

Freebirds is owned and operated by Tavistock Restaurants.

The new Freebirds Tyler location will employ about 30 employees and will operate from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturdays; and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays.
